The Last Generation
Are we living in the time of the last generation before the beginning of the end happens ?? We could very well be. I'll express my views concerning the biblical topic of the last generation and how we could be near the verge of all things becoming fulfilled as Yahushua had stated in the book of Matthew chapter 24 verse 34. The following may or may not surprise you and I am not setting any dates as when the end actually happens, but rather showing the season and to be alert for His soon return so one is not caught unaware.
In my view, the return of the Messiah is an ending and a beginning both at the same time before the final end and final judgment takes place. Let us begin......
First we must ask what is a generation and second we must ask how long a duration of time is a generation. For the answer there are two sources of information, the bible and a dictionary. Simple.
Let's start with the first half of the question. What is a generation ? The word has a very broad definition. The definition should match according to what God in the bible is saying in Genesis 6 : 3, this would be the second half of the question and give us pinpointed accuracy to the definition of what is a generation. Most teachers are ignoring just this one verse and it's in the sixth chapter in the first book of the bible.
Genesis 6 : 3 And Yahweh (the Lord) said, "My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh; yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years."
From His Word, God is stating a period of time that a man or woman is able to live from the time of birth to the time of death. Yes, most of us may not see the big 120, that's not to say it never happened because it has and continues to this present day. Now if we look up the definition of what is a generation one will find a match to what God's word is saying concerning time frame of life from birth to death.
At freedictionary.com are found the definitions for the word generation. Specifically number 11a but also take a look at number 1.
Stated in 11a - a generation is "one complete life cycle" and in the very first definition "the entire body of individuals born and living at about the same time". That is perfectly correct. How simple and yet modern day makes it so difficult. There are generations being born within a single generation on a daily basis!
Why is the above so important ? To show that all of us born into this world are living and dying within the age of the last generation! Let us now take a look at Isaiah and Ezekiel in the Old Testament along with Matthew, Mark and Luke in the New Testament with a fresh perspective concerning the prophetical words as recorded by them through the inspired words of Yahweh the Father and Yahushua the Messiah, the son of Yahweh El Shaddai.
Isaiah 11 : 11-12 "And it shall come to pass in that day, that Yahweh (the Lord) shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.
Isaiah 66 : 8 "Who hath heard such a thing: Who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? Shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children."
Ezekiel 20 : 34 "And I will bring you out from the people, and will gather you out of the countries wherein ye are scattered, with a mighty hand , and with a stretched out arm, and with fury poured out."
These are just a few passages of the return of God's people to the chosen land for a second time not to mention also a re-joining of tribes into one which is additionally stated in chapter 37 of the book of Ezekiel and is another entire matter reserved for a future study.
Getting to what Yahushua the Messiah states in the book of Matthew 24 : 32-33 "Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh. So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors (Messiah is referring to what he stated in Chapter 24 verses 1 through 26 which have been fulfilled and are continuing. Verses 29 through 31 has not happened......yet.); Yahushua goes on to state in verse 34 "Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled."
The book of Mark Chapter 13 and Luke Chapter 21 also give more insight and speak of the last generation.
Three times in three separate books the last generation is mentioned. This last generation could very well be the rebirth of Israel as a nation. Most modern biblical scholars and those who study biblical prophecy have stated that we are presently living within the last generation. I myself am no skeptic concerning the times we live in along with the historical evidence and proof to the current day and happen to agree with them that we are indeed living within the last generation.
How can we know this ?? All we have to do is take a look at history when Israel was reborn.
The rebirth of Israel as a state was declared on May 14, 1948 but was not recognized by the rest of the world and admitted into the United Nations until May of 1949. So what if the rest of the world didn't recognize it one year later, the rebirth happened after being dispersed for over 1900 years !
Aside from the historical evidence, we can now look at Israel being reborn; like a newborn child born into the world; a new generation. There you have it. A historical timeframe to coincide with what is written in accordance with God's word. Now we're talking.
Now for the math, where are we exactly in time frame ?
Israel reborn May 14, 1948 plus God's mandate for a generation being 120 years equals the fullness of time which could very well be May 14, 2068. This is the fullness of time when all will be fulfilled as was previously stated. This would not be the end. So please, for those of you preaching, don't go around saying it is when it isn't for there are other bible prophecies that must also be fulfilled after the fullness of time. Right now we are 53 years away from the fullness of time as of writing this study.
We must more than ever remain awake, be aware, keep watch, study, preach, pray, worship and warn.
